Share-Year-Round: Join to Double your Impact
We are deeply grateful for all Share lent donations, but monthly donations make the biggest difference. Become a Share Year-Round donor, your contribution becomes sustained and predictable and allows us to have lower administrative costs. That means more money can be more reliably invested in our partners. Between now and Pentecost, June 5, 2022, new donors and current donors who increase their donation amounts will have their donation matched through a fund supported by religious faith communities. Your $20 monthly donation will become $40.
Thanks to a group of generous supporters of this matching fund, there’s no better time to become a monthly donor! Visit devp.org/shareyearround to join the Share Year-Round program. Download our annual report to read how your donations make impact.
The Parish survey will be available till the end of day May 29th, 2022.
KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS
The St. Rose of Lima Knights of Columbus meet regularly on the 1st Sunday of each month at 7:30 PM in Mitchell Hall.
Who are the Knights?
The Knights of Columbus were founded by Father Michael J. McGivney, Curate at St. Mary's parish in New Haven, Conn. and were chartered in 1882.
As the priest explained to a small group of men at a meeting in the basement of St. Mary's Church in 1881, his purpose in calling them together was manifold: to help Catholic men remain steadfast in their faith through mutual encouragement; to promote closer ties of fraternity among them and to set up an elementary system of insurance
so that the widows and children of members in the group who might die would not find themselves in dire financial straits.
What the Order stands for today.
By their deeds shall you know them. The Knights of Columbus is very much a grass roots organization. The international body does not dictate the charitable programs and activities of local councils, rather, local councils develop the programs they believe will best serve the needs of their communities. Those needs are met in six core areas: Church, Community, Council, Family, Youth and Pro Life.
Who can be a member?
Membership is open to any practical Catholic man who is not less than eighteen years of age on his last birthday. A practical catholic is one who lives up to the commandments of God and the precept of the Church.
